Arete — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Arete("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

These Terms are between you and Spectroniq Limited("we", "us", "our"), the developer and operator of Arete.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Arete. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Your Account

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.
• One account per person. You may not create accounts on behalf of others.
• You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Danger Zone). Deletion is immediate and permanent.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Manipulate or falsify quest completions, XP, streaks, or any in-app progress
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App's backend, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable law
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or copy any part of the App without our written consent
• Use automated tools to interact with the App

5. Your Content

Content you enter into Arete — such as your life mission and one-year vision — remains yours. By storing it in the App, you grant us a limited licence to display it back to you within the App. We do not claim ownership of your personal content.

6. Intellectual Property

Arete, its name, design, quest system, ranking system, and all related assets are the property of Spectroniq Limited. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding outside the App.

7. Gems & In-App Currency

Gems are a virtual in-app currency with no monetary value. They cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for real money. Gem balances are non-refundable and will be lost if your account is deleted or terminated.

8. Disclaimers

Areteis provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result will be achieved through its use.

Arete is a productivity and self-development tool. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or fitness advice. Consult a qualified professional before making significant changes to your health or lifestyle.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Spectroniq Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the App.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of Arete after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nigeria.
